Hannah Montana Is A Teenaged Girl's Ideal

Disney's television show, "Hannah Montana" first went on the air on March 24, 2006. It became extremely popular with 'tween aged girls, those between the ages of 10 and 14 years of age. Hannah Montana is played by Miley Ray Cyrus, who was herself a 'tweenager in 2006.

The story of "Hannah Montana" is the story of the strange life of a girl, Miley Stewart, who is an ordinary California school girl by day and who dons a blonde wig and carries on a flourishing career as a rock star, Hannah Montana, by night. Her dual role is known only to her family, to her boy friend, and to a few close girl friends. 

"Hannah Montana" became a  world wide sensation and made a huge star of Miley Cyrus. Miley is now the queen of teenage pop singers. The final and last season of "Hannah Montana" will begin shooting in January of 2010 when Miley will have attained the ripe old age of eighteen.

Miley was born on November 23, 1992. She was christened Destiny Hope Cyrus. Her father is Billy Ray Cyrus who won the Country Music Award for best single of 1992, the same year that Destiny Hope was born. Billy Ray's cover of "Achy Breaky Heart" was a tremendous success. It was his break-through to fame and fortune. He now plays Miley Stewart's father, Robby, on "Hannah Montana".

It seems that no one ever called the new baby by her given name. She obviously was a very happy baby as she was nearly always smiling. Billy Ray took to calling her "Smiley". Somehow the "s" was dropped and Destiny Hope became Miley to all who knew her. In May of 2008, Destiny Hope went to court and changed her name legally to Miley Ray Cyrus.

Miley was only thirteen when she heard about the new television series that Disney was planning. It was to be called "Hannah Montana". Miley had been working with Billy Ray now and then on some of his gigs. She had even been on Television. She had found that she loved show business. So Miley decided she wanted to try out for the part of Lilly, Hannah's best friend. More than a thousand girls were there to also audition for that part. The folks at Disney were impressed with Miley's work ethic, and also with a certain something they saw in Miley. They signed Miley for the lead part, the part of Hannah Montana herself.

The work ethic that the Disney producers noted soon got a real workout. Miley's life became a whirlwind. Besides doing the school work that most kids of her age have to do and shooting segments of "Hannah Montana", Miley also cut records and made music videos.

Then in 2007, Miley went on her debut concert tour. The tour was billed as "Best of Both Worlds" and featured both Hannah Montana and Miley Ray Cyrus. The tour was a smash hit. The tickets were gone within fifteen minutes of their release and seats were scalped for over a thousand dollars apiece. The tour included many of the major cities of North America.

"Best of Both Worlds" was another major success for Miley Ray. It won the 2008 Billboard Touring Award for "Breakthrough Act". Moreover, the tour was taped and made into a concert film called, "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds". The concert film hit number one at the box office and eventually became the best selling concert movie of all time.

This year, 2009, Miley is on another bus tour which began in September in Portland, Oregon. She will not only tour North America this time, but she will finish up in the UK and Ireland in December, just in time to return home and begin work on her last season of "Hannah Montana".

Miley travels in a caravan of four big tour buses. There was a tragic accident on November 20, 2009, just outside of Dinwiddie, Virginia, when one of the buses ran off the side of the road and overturned. One of the passengers went to the hospital with minor injuries, but the bus driver, 53 year old William Douglas (Uncle Bill), died at the scene. It is thought that he had had a heart attack which caused the accident. Miley wasn't on the bus. That particular bus was carrying mostly the lighting crew. It was very sad for everyone on the tour because they aren't just employees. The Cyrus family consider everyone who works with them to be family.

Miley and her family are in the UK as of this writing, except for Billy Ray who is in Iraq entertaining the troops, spreading, as he says, some Christmas cheer. Billy Ray will join the rest of the family in London where they will spend Christmas together. Miley has four days off from her tour and Billy Ray says they will be doing all the things they always do at home, including watching "Rudolph, The Rednosed Reindeer" on the telly. So, even though they are far from home, they will celebrate together.

Miley has been having a marvelous time on her tour. Miley has even appeared before Queen Elizabeth at the Blackpool Opera House on December 7th at a charity event which benefitted the Entertainment Artists' Benevolent Fund.. Blackpool is a posh resort town in the northwest of England. Miley met many of England's best musical artists as she performed in the Royal Variety Show. She was also very excited to meet fellow American. Lady Gaga.

Miley Ray Cyrus has become a superstar. She has been named Seventeen Magazine's "Style Star of 2009" and she will be on the cover of their next issue. She has membership sites on the web where her fans can sign up for her Mileyworld Parties, and where they can also buy all kinds of Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana themed merchandise.

But everything in her life isn't all peaches and cream. Miley has discovered the misery of being the target of the paparazzi that has tormented famous people from Princess Diana on down. Miley said recently, "I have nightmares about paparazzi. I always have those flashing things in my dreams. They're so scary..." She has said that being a paparazzi must be the "most disgusting job imaginable".

Recently, the paparazzi caused a huge ruckus when they photographed Miley while she was sunbathing in a pink bikini in Florida. The pictures caught a black tattoo under Miley's left breast which said, "Just Breathe". The fan magazines and the tabloids went ballistic over the tattoo. What did the words mean? Was the tattoo going to be the first in a series?  Was Miley going to turn into a Tattoo Lady? Was it even permanent? Or just black ink? And why the strange location? The questions and the speculation were unending.

In the past, Miley had befriended a nine year old girl, Vanessa, whom she had met in a hospital in Los Angeles. They were fast friends until Vanessa died from Cystic Fibrosis in 2007. Miley never forgot Vanessa.

The celebrity blogger, Peres Hilton, is of the opinion that the tattoo is a tribute to Vanessa. Miley has supported the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ever since she met Vanessa and it is possible "Just Breathe" is a motto related to that foundation. The tattoo is placed over Miley's heart and lung area which would further lead to the theory that it is a tribute to Vanessa. Moreover, Miley's brother, Trace, enjoys working in ink and due to the fact that it is illegal for anyone under the age of eighteen to get a tattoo in the US without the signature of a parent or guardian, it is felt that the tattoo is probably not permanent.

What does the future hold for Miley Ray Cyrus after "Hannah Montana"? One of her favorite songs is Poison's 1988 hit, "Every Rose Has A Thorn", which she has recorded. Miley has said she wants to stop recording for awhile  so she can more or less take inventory of all the music she loves. She is now eighteen and she realizes that she--and her fans--are growing up. Sometimes tastes change as one grows. Her life so far has been a hectic whirlwind and possibly she wants to slow down and check out her options. Miley has an incredible five years to,look back on, she is financially set for life and we can only hope that her future will be as rosy and good to her as her association with "Hannah Montana" has been.

I wrote a letter to Disney quite awhile ago now to ask if it's legal for me to post videos and other things about Hannah Montana on my Hub Pages, but they never answered me. I don't know anything about Trademarks and all those other arcane business things. I really hope I.m not going to jail because that would really cut into my time! Oh, well...

I just heard that Miley is going to be a presenter at the Oscars.this year. 

Well, I don't really know what to say about Miley Cyrus, nowadays! I am very happy for her great success, but when I Googled her, it seemed to be all about Miley's nipples and Miley's crotch and Miley's lap dances. Does she really have to do this? And where are all the "adults" in her life? Could it be that they are all making so much money from Miley's gyrations that they have nothing to say? I feel very sorry for Miley...Do they really care abouy Miley? Or just the money...It always seems to be all about the money...

Miley's new life seems to taking a turn...for what? Miley's parents are heading for Divorce Court, which is very sad for Miley and her younger sibs . Miley has evidently informed her parents of her new rights. I have heard the same thing from my grandson loud and clear, when he screams at my daughter,"I'm 18 now and I can do whatever I f*****g well please!" I don't think Billy Ray has any more control over Miley than my daughter has over her son. And, worse, Miley has money to burn, so I guess she really CAN do what she pleases...
